The simple terms
How the free website check and paid work actually work, in plain English.

Who you're dealing with
Website Clarity is one person, based in Hampshire, working with businesses across the UK. You deal with me directly, by email at hello@websiteclarity.co.uk.
The free website check
- You send your name, website and email. I don't need logins, website access, a card or a call.
- I run the checks and review the results myself, then email you the 2–3 things I think are most worth your attention, usually within 2–3 working days.
- It's free, with no obligation. The findings are yours to use however you like: ask me to do the work, give them to whoever looks after your website, or do nothing.
- If I find something worth fixing, I'll include what it would cost. That's a price, not an invoice.
- The check looks at your website and how it appears from the outside. It can't see your private accounts, rankings history or enquiries, and it can't catch everything.
Paid work
- Nothing paid starts until you've agreed a written price and what it covers. Indicative ranges are on the Prices page.
- If the work changes once it's started, I'll tell you and agree any change in price with you before doing it.
- How and when payment is due will be set out in writing with the price.
- Most work is a one-off project. Any ongoing help is only if you ask for it and is agreed separately. There's no automatic monthly contract.
Your website stays yours
- Your website, domain, content and accounts remain yours. Anything I write or build for you as part of paid work is yours once it's paid for.
- If you give me access to anything, I only use it for the agreed work, and you can remove my access at any time.
No guarantees about Google or AI
Nobody controls where Google, Bing or AI tools show a business, so I can't promise rankings, traffic, AI mentions or enquiries. What I can promise is that the work I agree to do is done carefully and as described.
What depends on your platform
Some website builders and managed platforms limit what can be changed. I'll tell you before quoting if your setup limits something I'd normally recommend.
Changing your mind
You can stop paid work at any time by telling me. You pay for work already done up to that point, and nothing more.
Responsibility
I take care with every change and keep a record of what I've done. My total liability for any piece of work is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law doesn't allow that limit. Nothing here affects your legal rights.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
