What information this site collects, why, and what happens to it — in plain English, like everything else here.
When you ask for an audit: your name, email address, website address, services, areas covered and (if you add it) your biggest concern. This is collected for one purpose — delivering your website audit. It's the information the audit is built from.
When you pay: payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their secure checkout page. Your card details never touch this website and are never seen or stored by Website Clarity. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment itself.
When you use the contact form: your name, email and message — used only to reply to you.
If you grant viewer access to tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics or Bing Webmaster Tools, that data is looked at solely to write your review, and you can remove the access yourself at any time. Passwords are never asked for.
It is never sold. It is never shared with anyone for marketing. You are never added to a mailing list you didn't ask for. You'll only be emailed about work you've requested — and if a newsletter ever exists, it will be strictly opt-in with an unsubscribe link in every email.
Client records are stored securely in a private, access-controlled database. The website is hosted by Vercel, emails are delivered by Resend, and payments are processed by Stripe — these providers process data on Website Clarity's behalf to run the service, and each is bound by its own security and privacy commitments. Your review report is prepared privately and sent only to the email address you gave.
Client records and reports are kept while you're a client and for a reasonable period afterwards — because returning clients get their previous review compared against their new one. If you'd like your details deleted sooner, just ask.
This site runs no advertising trackers, and sets no cookies at all unless you allow them. When you first visit, a banner asks whether Google Analytics can be used — one optional analytics cookie that helps show which pages genuinely help people. If you choose "No thanks" (or ignore the banner), no analytics run and nothing is set. If you allow it and change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again. Analytics data is anonymous traffic measurement — it's never used for advertising and never sold.
Under UK data protection law you can ask at any time: what information is held about you, for a copy of it, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted. Email hello@websiteclarity.co.uk or use the contact page — you'll get a straight answer, not a runaround. If you're ever unhappy with how your information has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
